At Big Penny Social

Commissioned by V&A East, Turner Prize winning artist Jasleen Kaur has been selected for the inaugural Art Explora Art Commission.

Working with a group of young people in Higham Hill to think about how infrastructure impacts their lives, they will create a public art work for the local park which will be unveiled in May 2027.

Join Jasleen and Demi and Alexis, who have been involved in the project, to explore a session on concrete poetry especially for Blackhorse Creates. Historically in town planning, green spaces were imagined as the 'lungs of London' creating spaces to breath and belong in the city.

Use concrete poetry to create song lyrics about how the city, the neighbourhood, the park and the pavement makes you feel.
