Reshad Hurree

Back

Reshad is an award-winning bladesmith and occasional woodturner based in Walthamstow. He worked in corporate finance for over a decade as a graphic designer. He was always interested in making, and as the graphic design industry shifted towards the digital world, he decided to pursue a career as a maker.

After taking some short courses with Boneyard London, Bushfire Forge and Leszek Sikon, Reshad joined Blackhorse Workshop and began pursuing culinary knife making full-time. He has since won the 2024 Cutlers’ Award, awarded by The Worshipful Company of Cutlers for his pursuit of excellence and dedication to promoting the craft of culinary knife making. He has since become a teacher at Boneyard London, where he shares his expertise through knife-making courses.

Within his own practice, Reshad makes high-end culinary knives and enjoys maximising the facilities available at Blackhorse Workshop. He has also taken up woodturning, which allows him to diversify into homeware alongside kitchenware. He also runs raffles with support from the Blackhorse Workshop community to raise money for charity.
